I am using VMware Workstation 8.

I am trying to take the 100GB allocated space with 2GB vmdk files to go to a 70GB hard drive.  I am having trouble with the compressing of the file.  I go into the software, Windows Server 2012 and I have shrunk the disk down to possibly 50GB and the rest of the disk is "space" and I have defragmented, in the OS and in VMware Workstation, and compressed, but still it won't "free" up much.  I have MANY 2GB files and i THINK that they could be / are 0's, but I am trying to CLONE to see if it will "help."  Is there any way to get the files onto this or do I have to start all over again?
