Hi,
Currently I plan to reduce vdisk size in one of redhat VM. At first, I tried to use VM converter to convert the VM and reduce the space, but I found that I cannot modify the vdisk size in redhat VM by using converter (it is weird that I can modify the vdisk size in windows VM), I only can change the datastore or format type(thin/flat).
I try to treat Redhat VM as physical machine, and perform p2v (choose powered-on machine in converter). At last step, I can see all Redhat partition/mount point (eg, /etc, /backup....), and I can modify the disk size in each partition/mount point. I face another problem here, this is my database server and I use RDM in it. If I just simply convert like this way, all partition/mount point will be in VMFS datastore, I worry it will impact my virtual machine after convert.
Is it any other way to reduce vdisk and rdm in Redhat VM?
Thank you.
Regards
Ho
